 This is a french bulldog! Im buying one in the summer when I move out of my apartment :). Veryyy pricey tho :(

i know! i was trying to convince ricky on letting me get a french bulldog, pug, pig, or a wombat :3

I convinced my parents to let me get a frenchie when I move into their house here in MI. I just need 1,000-1,500 dollars :D.  My boyfriend has 3 pugs. Theyre the cuuuuutest.

i had two great danes, some of the best dogs to own, and i always told myself i would never own a small dog if it wasn’t a weenie, but seeing pics like this make my heart flutter<3 there’s this pet shop down here that has spider monkeys and stuff, i’m sure it’s all black market, but they said [and i quote] “Any animal you want, we can get it. Just let us know” that’s where the wombat came to mind :3 buuuut, they said they would sell us the frenchie for only 500, they just have to be a month older. i was like :O!

 What noooo way!!! Any animal?! Wth! haha, The cheapest frenchie Ive been able to find is 800. But most people who sell them around here are show dog breeders who jack up the prices :( Wahhhhh

That petstore you guys are talking about? Those people running it are monsters. You will never get a decent animal for there, you will never find a decent French Bulldog for under $1500 bucks - breeder or no. They are expensive because it takes a lot of money to breed and whelp them - most dogs are unable to mate naturally so they must be artificially inseminated, and most cannot deliver vaginally, so they have to have c-sections. The prices aren’t jacked up, they are legitimate and necessary, based on the price of production, quality care, and on supply & demand. Now that Frenchies are becoming fad dogs, cheap, bad specimens of the breed are being spread around, making it harder to spot a good breeder from a bad - but regardless - never, never, ever, ever buy a dog from a pet store.

Buying any animal from a pet store is encouraging these people, and their brokers and suppliers to abuse and murder innocent animals and overpopulate our shelters with abandoned animals, all in the name of easy money. The breeding animals are kept in awful conditions, not taken care of and most of them time beaten and debarked, underfed and overwhelped. The puppies they produce are not of sound health, their temperments are unpredictable, and since the very healthiest Frenchie is already highly prone to many medical conditions, you’re only setting yourself up for future heartbreak. If you’re unable to afford a Frenchie, or any other type of animal, save up until you can or check with the multitudes of breed-specific rescues there are. You can adopt for a low fee, or be a foster parent for free. Just…don’t buy them from pet stores. Please.
